Walking on cloud $9,000

Walking on cloud $9,000
25 September 2012

WE’VE all got our favourite things to blow cash on. For some, it’s collectable cars, sports memorabilia or guitars. For a lot of ladies, let’s say it together: it’s designer shoes.

So many styles to choose from, so many Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahniks to tempt us… But have you ever stopped to ask yourself why? What makes these shoes any more special than those in the bargain bin at Carrefour? Is it the name on the sole, or the price tag? Or maybe these purchases make you feel important, beautiful, or loved – much like Beth Shak, one of our case studies here at cashy.

Beth claimed it was an ‘emotional void’ that her estimated 1,200 pairs of shoes were filling. We say? The only void shoes can fill is storage space in your wardrobe! It’s time to get serious and question these ‘obsessions’ which eat away at our bank balances.

So the next time you stop to fawn over some McQueens, ask yourself – is this something I need? Can I afford this as part of my disposable income? Will I feel guilty or pleased looking over my bank statement when I see this purchase?

You’ve got the power, cashy member – you too can kick your bad habits!
