Queen Rania: Ditch the stereotypes and believe in yourselves
19 June 2013

Queen Rania of Jordan delivered the ultimate ‘Girl Power’ speech recently through an open letter to CNN.  She urged girls to ‘disregard’ fluffy, female stereotypes and images, and realize their true potential as powerful individuals.

The Jordanian Royal, who previously worked for Citibank and Apple, referred to a new chapter for women in Jordan, and that a revolution in terms of women in society was a possibility that only requires encouragement and support to be realized.

She also championed the cause of the working mother in the Arab world, saying; ‘It’s important that the girls and young women of our region have strong female role models: women who successfully juggle the demands of a career and the demands of motherhood. One of the best things about my job is that I meet such women every week.’

Are you a working mum with a high-flying career? What’s your opinion?
